27/07/2018

Narrative description of Project:

The project road, section from Yangon to Taik Kyi, (hereinafter referred to as “the Project Road”) is a part of Yangon-Pyay-Magway road which is under operation and management by Max Highway (hereinafter referred to as “the Client”). The entire section of Yagon-Pyay-Magway road is 572 km-long through Yangon Region, Bago Region, and Magway Region.

The length of the Project Road is 43.03 km from the beginning point (B.P.) at KM 36+000 to the end point (E.P.) at KM 79+030. The road width before widening is 6.7m for two-lane road without median. It is observed that the road surface is overlayed several times by bituminous surface treatment. Currently, widening by cement concrete pavement for four-lane is ongoing.

The first section is widened by cement concrete for both sides then the width becomes around 14.0m.

The second section is typical rural road. Widening has not started yet. Motorbikes and bicycles sometimes run at earthen shoulder to avoid overpassing vehicles. Asphalt pavement surface is generally maintained but there are some cracks and damages.
